Tahanang Walang Hagdanan, Inc. (TWHI), a renowned non-profit organization dedicated to empowering individuals in the Philippines, has taken significant steps towards sustainability and energy independence. This initiative was made possible through the generous donation of PHP 1.2 million by Chevron Inc., and the expert installation services provided by SasonbiSolar, all under the patronage of Renewable Energy and ESG Advocate, Ricky Jacinto.
The recent energization on May 30, 2024 of TWHI with solar power marked a momentous occasion in their journey towards sustainability. This project aimed to significantly reduce the organization’s dependence on conventional power sources and lower their carbon footprint. This was expected to have a significant impact by reducing electricity costs so TWHI could allocate more resources to its core programs and services.
This collaboration between TWHI, Chevron Inc., and SasonbiSolar exemplified corporate, social responsibility, expertise, and philanthropic efforts could converge to create positive environmental changes. The success of TWHI’s energization was not just a milestone for the organization but served as an example of progress within the community.
“On behalf of Tahanang Walang Hagdanan, our profound gratitude for the actualization of this project, which we thought would belong [only on] Tahanan’s bucket list. Thank you for your support and for choosing Tahanan to be your benevolence’s beneficiary. Again, thank you and More Power!” — Lita Evangelista, TWHI Executive Vice President
