Dante Briones, President and CEO of SasonbiSolar, was an invited panelist during the ASEAN Clean Energy Week held on November 22 at the SMX Convention Center Manila. The panel talked about energizing renewable and storage growth in the Philippines.

He joined the panel alongside Jose Jr. Layug (President of Developers of Renewable Energy for AdvanceMent, Inc. (DREAM)), Robert Marlon T. Pereja (CEO, PAVI Green Renewable Energy), Kevin Lamela (Director of Business Development, ENGIE Services (Philippines)), and Buddy Bocarile (AVP Energy & Sustainability BU Yokogawa Philippines Operations, Yokogawa Philippines, Inc.). Jonas Marie Dumdum (Consultant – Industry Solutions Consulting, Nomura Research Institute) was also the facilitator of the symposium.

The current state of renewable energy in the Philippines was discussed, especially the problems that arose in related industries and what could be done to solve them. There were positives raised during the discussion, such as solar power having a strong impact on areas that otherwise had no ways of obtaining electricity. There was hope expressed in the future of renewable energy in the Philippines, and that future generations will benefit from the passionate and innovative endeavors from pioneers within the industry.
